Plans were underway for 2026, I had the year mapped out, knew exactly what I was doing and it was all going well, until that is, there was an unexpected turn.
A chance meeting, a brief interaction has turned my entire year upside down, but in a very good way. What was a simple exchange of views on the opening of a Broadway show on social media has become a very important turn of events in creating a new creative partnership. It’s incredibly rare that I actually make that kind of a connection however this was definitely not to be ignored.
2026 has now taken a whole new course; my Sondheim show is still in development but now it’s become a better show with the input of my creative partner and the show now features a narrator. A brand new writing project has developed shockingly quickly and is now firmly underway; a project on a massive scale which is being kept under wraps for now.
A new theatrical project; Dracula Nocturne is also under development for later in the year, a fabulous new retelling of the Bram Stoker classic novel performed in a very unique format of storytelling and music.
A show from years ago, The Christmas Gift has now become The Christmas Chronicles and with assistance on the development of the project, again from my new creative partner, is now booking at venues in December 2026.
I’m now busier than ever, longer days, more writing time at the computer; but it’s the most creative I’ve been in a very long time. It almost feels like a whole new beginning.
